This wedding marked many "firsts" for me: my first time in New Jersey, my first time square dancing, my first time taking photos of a family of 11 kids!
One word to sum up this day, these families, this couple, was kindness. One of the biggest aspects of being a wedding photographer that I love is becoming part of a family for a day. And this household was one of the kindest families I've had the privilege of stepping into. A race of kids running around, from toddlers to teenagers. So much life. Yet so much peace amidst the crazy chaos of so many people getting ready in one house!
Being an observer who happens to a wedding photographer is an interesting thing. Seeing so many personality types over the years and yet all the same seeing couples who compliment each other in such beautiful ways. Its not just vows to a person who you like for that moment, but vows to a person who truly does bring out the best in you, strengthens you and has determined to live out the rest of their life with you no matter what. Danielle and James were very much cut from the same cloth. Both kind, both generous, both exuding a confidence of love toward those they met. No lie, being a wedding photographer can be exhausting but its' interactions and observations with this kind of love that makes it worth the long days and long nights.
